Winter Pins & Yin

  • Yoga Loft Sydney 1/421 Cleveland Street Redfern, NSW, 2016 Australia (map)

YIN YOGA IS THE FUSION OF TRADITIONAL YOGA POSTURES WITH THE ACUPUNCTURE CHANNELS UNDERSTOOD IN TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE.

OVER 2 HOURS WE WILL BEGIN WITH A WINTER YIN YOGA SEQUENCE FEELING INTO THE PHYSICAL BODY, ACCOMPANIED WITH ACCUPRESSURE POINTS. FOLLOWED BY A BALANCING ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT BY MELINDA MCDONALD & CASSIE YOUNG.

Melinda McDonald and Cassie Young are AHPRA-registered Acupuncturists and Chinese Medicine Practitioners based in Waterloo. With extensive clinical experience, they specialise in women's health, supporting clients through all stages of life—from menstrual health and fertility to pregnancy, postpartum care, and peri/menopause.

During this session, Melinda and Cassie will provide nurturing acupressure and gentle acupuncture treatments designed to support your meridians during the winter season. They will also share practical insights from Chinese Medicine to help you align with the rhythms of winter and cultivate greater balance and wellbeing.

THE MERIDIAN LINES FOR WINTER ARE KIDNEY & BLADDER.

This season is governed by the Water element. These meridians, which are pathways for energy flow in the body, are particularly important during winter due to the season's emphasis on rest, conservation, and storage of energy. The Kidney meridian, in particular, is considered vital for maintaining the body's vitality and storing the "pre-congenital qi" or life energy.

BY COMBINING THE POSTURES TO OPEN THE CHANNELS, WITH ACUPUNCTURE & ACUPRESSURE TO STIMULATE KEY POINTS, YOU CAN EXPECT A DEEPER OPENING OF THE BODY AND RELAXATION OF THE MIND.
